SpazioFMG Sections of Autonomy. Six Korean Architects

During the week of the Salone del Mobile in Milan, SpazioFMGperl'Architettura presents the exhibition “Sections of Autonomy. Six Korean Architects”, on its second stop in Italy. The exhibition recently presented at Fondazione Pastificio Cerere in Rome, curated by Choi Won-joon and Luca Galofaro, comes to Milan enriched with the contribution of Luca Molinari, and features work by Choi Moon-gyu (Ga.A Architects), Jang Yoon-gyoo (Unsangdong Architects Cooperation), Kim Jong-kyu (M.A.R.U.), Kim Jun-sung (Architecture Studio hANd), Kim Seung-hoy (KYWC Architects), Kim Young-joon (YO2 Architects): six of South Korea’s most interesting and experimental architects.

Iris Ceramica and FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti’s gallery and showroom consolidates its vocation for showcasing unexplored “spaces” and territories on the international contemporary architecture scene. The six architects featured in the exhibition represent a generation of professionals that began their careers in the late 90s and early 2000s, when South Korea had just shaken off its dictatorship and become a democratic country. The six architects were among the first professionals to be free to express their individuality, combining local culture with a focus on the stimulation received from the international architecture scene.
During Fuorisalone week April 3 through 7, the exhibition will be open to the public every day from 11 am to 9 pm and the opening at 18:30 on April 3 will feature the presentation to the public at SpazioFMGperl'Architettura of the Sections of Autonomy. Six Korean Architects catalogue, edited by Luca Galofaro with essays by Choi Won-joon, Stefania Manna and Alessandro Toti.
