Exhibition: Conceptions of Space: Recent Acquisitions in Contemporary Architecture

The "Conceptions of Space" exhibition presents the latest new acquisitions of the Architecture and Design Department at MoMA in New York.

The twenty projects on exhibition offer an overview of contemporary architecture, ranging from world-famous architects such as Herzog & de Meuron, Álvaro Siza and Kengo Kuma to emerging young architects such as Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Ryue Nishizawa, Ensamble Studio, SO-IL and MOS Architects.
Photographs and drawings take visitors through reflection on the concept of space, a key concern in architecture and a field of research for artists and sociologists.
The material on exhibit is organised into themes, corresponding to different concepts of space, ranging, for instance, from social and collective spaces in the city (social space)to living space, from “condensed space” (studies of minimal living) to imaginary spaces (fictional space).
